Beaver Scouts are aged between 6-8 years old and can join of our 18 Colony’s in Horsham who are all supported by incredible leaders and volunteers who deliver fun and adventure through an exciting programme!

Being a Beaver

When you join Beavers, you’ll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things.

Activities and what you’ll get up to

Get an introduction to outdoor activities, have the opportunity to be creative, explore your local community and experience the excitement of a Beaver Scout sleepover with your friends.

Badges & Awards

Become an expert in something you love, or try something shiny and new.
There’s a badge to suit each and every Beaver.

The Promise

As an inclusive and values based Movement, membership is open to all those individuals who share our fundamental values, and are willing to make a commitment to them, expressed by the Promise and Law.

Uniform and badge placement

You don’t need a uniform to join. But once you’ve settled in, you’ll start speedily earning badges, and you’ll need to know where to put them!

Information for parents

Theres lots of information and help available for parents. A great place to start is with your section leader. Give them quick email or catch them at the end of a session, they’ll always be happy to help.
The Scouts website also hosts a whole variety of information which is also a good place to look.

Nature and the outdoors are languages that can be learned. Once you identify a beech tree, tie a clove hitch or cook a simple meal over a fire that you’ve built yourself, you’ll never forget it.'
