1st Shipley Scout Group

1st Shipley Scout Group has claim to being among the oldest Scout Groups in the country. With a small camping ground surrounding a traditional thatched roofed HQ the Group meets the needs of the young people in a rural Sussex community offering Beaver, Cub and Scouts Sections. For older members (14+) 1st Shipley Group offers the opportunity to join Paladin Explorer Scout Unit. Camping, hiking and traditional Scouting are features of the Groups activities.

Meeting Nights:

  • Beaver Scout Colony (6-8 year olds) – Fridays 17:15 – 18:15
  • Cub Scout Pack (8-10½ year olds) – Tuesdays 18:30 – 20:00
  • Scout Troop (10½ – 14 year olds) – Fridays 19:00 – 21:00
  • Paladin Explorer Scout Unit (14 – 18 year olds)

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
