The weekend of 5th & 6th March will see Horsham Scouts enjoying adventurous activities
Mad March Hare Competition Hike
Young People from the age of 12 to 18 will join in a competition hike to test their navigation skills and develop their sense of adventure overnight on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th March.
The Scouts and Explorer Scouts in teams of up 6 will further challenged by completing tasks at each of the checkpoints along the pre-planned route.
Experienced adult volunteers have been preparing for this annual event which takes place in a different location each year. Other supporters will be on hand to ensure that the young people can safely engage in this demanding event.
Caving in the Mendips
A group of Explorer Scouts will be travelling to the City of Wells, Somerset, to spend much of the weekend underground in the caves that lie under the Mendip Hills.
Some of the Scouts on the trip which is organised by the West Sussex Scouts County Caving Team will go underground for the very first time where they will discover a very different world to their everyday experience.
Horsham Scouts are very fortunate to have a dedicated team of caving experts who are members of the Scout Movement and have a passion to give young people the opportunity to engage in this exciting activity.
In 2015 a Scout with cerebral palsy went on one of the Caving trips for the first time in his life. He had a wonderful time and went back again earlier this year to do it all again.
